About Me

How did I arrive at this point in my career? I started as an electronics technician in the U.S. Navy. After completing my enlistment contract, I joined one of the myriad consulting firms in the Washington DC area. From there, I returned to school and earned an undergraduate degree in English. With that, I moved into technical editing and ended up as a proposal manager.
After a number of years as a proposal manager, I wanted to do more. I felt that my background would make me a good fit for technical communication, so I looked into graduate programs. After extensive research, I determined that ASU offered the type and quality f program that I wanted. I entered the program with some trepidation, not knowing quite what to expect. I found that the program offered a variety of courses and that I had a lot of freedom in my course selection. I have enjoyed my journey, and at the culmination of my education, I feel that I am well prepared for whatever path I choose to take.
