This project presented both a transformative and a troublesome knowledge aspect to my threshold concept. This website redesign was for a bed and breakfast inn in a beach community. I could have just redesigned the website with a focus on a recreational visitor who was visiting for the weekend. I knew I needed to do more to understand the types and motivations of visitors to the beach, so I conducted research to discover such identifiers as age, social status, income, number of children, and education. My purpose was to determine what type of graphics would best represent the interests of visitors to the community. The first page of the document represents the original home page. The home page was long and text heavy, and it was difficult to navigate. I aimed for a cleaner look and designed two sites: one optimized for a desktop computer and one optimized for mobile devices. I prepared three different redesigns of the home page with the intention of allowing the owners of the B&B to choose the final design.
